Welcome and Community Information

Lynda’s welcome

Hello,

Welcome to the website of Beaumaris Rotary. I am proud to be the President for this Rotary year. Within these pages you will find out more about our Club and what is special about being a member here.

For me it is the warmth of the people. Beaumaris Rotary has always mixed tradition with a sense of fun. It’s a vibrant Club.  But, more importantly, what was very clear from day one – Beaumaris Rotary Members are people of action.

Who are we?

Club Members are people from all walks of life with a common interest: we believe in creating opportunities for people who need our support.

For all of us, it’s really important that people see Rotary Club Members as a force for creating lasting, positive change: in our local community and overseas. It’s been the driving force of the Club since 1985.

We’re a Club that moves fast to fill the gaps. Which means, we rally support quickly in response to needs. Examples are: providing relief after the recent bush fire disasters; providing food for those struggling during the lockdown; and helping local schools.

Where do you find us? We look forward to seeing you at the Royal Avenue Farmers’ Market, Bayside Charity Golf Day or one of many events we support in the Beaumaris Concourse. We often join forces with other Clubs and other community organisations to support events  to bring our community together.

Normally, we meet every Thursday evening at the Victoria Golf Club at 7pm although sometimes, for reasons you’ll understand, we meet on zoom. We always have a great program of speakers complemented by updates on our latest community projects.

We would love to hear from you

Hopefully, you can tell from our choice of photo that we’re a warm, friendly and informal group!

Denise is our Membership Director. That title probably sounds a little formal but trust me, she’s the friendliest person you’ll ever meet.

She’d love to hear from you. Email or call Denise on  d.grocke@unimelb.edu.au Tel 0418 578 114

A few words of thanks

We couldn’t do what we do without the support of others.  Special thanks go to Bayside City Council, Bendigo Bank, Beaumaris Community Bank Branch and all the amazing local people who provide their generous support.
