Rotary Club of Beaumaris: Supporting Sandringham Hospital and the Cheltenham Community Centre Children’s Festival

Rotary Club of Beaumaris is still open!  And we’re continuing to come up with good ideas to support our local community.

Emotional retreat

Wondering where all those gold coins go?  Sandringham Hospital is big on our watch list!

In recent years, with your support, we’ve contributed funds towards, a new Day Procedure Centre, Reflection Garden and refurbished rehabilitation area, new ophthalmology equipment together with a maternity waiting area with recliner seating.

Of all the new additions, it’s probably the Reflection Garden that attracts most comment.  Designed primarily as a place of emotional respite for visitors, the garden is a tranquil place for patients, families and friends alike.

New Covid-19 protocols have impacted some of the events we’d typically support.  But that hasn’t stopped us .  We’re still finding new ways to make a difference in the local community.

National Children’s Week

For a number of years, we’ve supported the Cheltenham Community Centre Children’s Festival.  This year, instead of one big October festival, the Centre is planning a week-long program of fun and engaging free activities.

How have we helped? Beaumaris Rotary has contributed $2000 towards the cost of a sanitising station, thermometers, perspex screens and a camera with tripod for live streaming.

We hope that’s given you a glimpse of two of the ways we support the local community. Interested?  Give us a call on 0418 578 114  We’re always looking for new Members and new ideas.
